My Simple Women Travel Kit: Things I Never Travel Without

I used to think I needed a separate product for every possible travel situation. Over time, I realised that carrying too much only makes the bag heavier and harder to organise.

Now, I keep my women travel kit simple.

These are the things I actually use and find useful on most trips:

1. A Small Toiletry Pouch

I keep my daily basics together instead of putting them all over my luggage.

• Toothbrush and toothpaste

• Face wash

• Moisturizer

• Sunscreen

• Deodorant

• Comb or hairbrush

• Lip balm

Travel-size containers are usually enough for short trips.

2. Period Products

This is one thing I never leave to chance. I carry the period product I am comfortable using, even when I don’t expect my period during the trip.

I also keep a few disposal bags in the same pouch.

3. My Basic Medicine Pouch

I carry any medicines I regularly need and a few basic first-aid items.

My small pouch usually has:

• Regular personal medicines

• Band-aids

• ORS

• Antiseptic wipes

I don’t carry random medicines that I have never used before.

4. Hand Sanitizer and Tissues

These take almost no space but can be surprisingly useful.

I keep a small sanitizer and tissues in my handbag or daypack so I don’t have to open my main luggage every time I need them.

5. Sunscreen

If I’m going somewhere sunny, sunscreen is one of the first things I pack.

I keep it somewhere easy to reach because I don’t want to dig through my suitcase just to find it.

6. A Power Bank

My phone is not just for taking photos while travelling. I use it for maps, tickets, hotel bookings, communication and emergency contacts.

So a charged power bank is something I consider essential.

7. Extra Hair Ties

This sounds like a tiny thing, but losing a hair tie when you’re travelling can be surprisingly annoying.

I keep a few in my toiletry pouch and one in my day bag.

8. Comfortable Innerwear

I always carry enough for the trip plus a couple of extras.

For longer trips, I prefer lightweight and quick-drying options because they are easier to wash and dry.

9. A Small Laundry Bag

I use one simple reusable bag for clothes I’ve already worn.

It keeps clean and used clothes separate and makes unpacking much easier when I get home.

10. A Few Personal Hygiene Essentials

Depending on the destination and length of the trip, I may also carry:

• Wet wipes

• Panty liners

• Small tissue packs

• Travel towel

• Hand cream

I only pack what I know I’ll actually use.

11. Minimal Makeup

I don’t take my whole makeup collection on holiday.

Usually, I am happy with:

• Lip balm or lipstick

• Compact

• Mascara

• One multipurpose product

The goal is to keep it simple.

12. A Reusable Water Bottle

I prefer carrying my own bottle rather than buying a new plastic bottle every time I’m thirsty.

I refill it whenever safe drinking water is available.

13. A Small Crossbody or Day Bag

I don’t want to carry my entire suitcase around while sightseeing.

A small, comfortable day bag is enough for my phone, wallet, tissues, sanitizer, sunscreen and other small essentials.

14. Copies of Important Documents

For important trips, I keep digital copies of my ID, passport, tickets, hotel bookings and travel insurance details.

For international travel, I also keep the physical documents safely organised.

15. A Little Extra Space

This isn’t technically an item, but it has become one of my favourite packing rules.

I never fill my bag completely.

Leaving some space makes it easier to pack things I buy during the trip and prevents the suitcase from becoming difficult to close.

What I Actually Keep in My Everyday Travel Pouch

If I’m trying to travel light, my small pouch usually comes down to:

Toothbrush + toothpaste + sunscreen + moisturizer + lip balm + sanitizer + tissues + period products + basic medicines + comb + hair ties.

That’s it.

You don’t need a giant women travel kit filled with products you might use someday. Pack the things that make your journey more comfortable, keep them organised, and make sure the most important items are easy to reach.

Good packing isn’t about carrying more. It’s about carrying what you genuinely need.
